Brand Profile - Double B Foods, Inc.
MCG’s relationship with Double B Foods started in November of 2001 when they asked us to help them develop an all natural beef and turkey jerky line under their own brand.  They are primarily a co-packer for large jerky brands and saw the natural channel as an arena where they could sell products under their own brand without competing directly with their key customers.

MCG assisted Double B in most aspects of the development including the package design, product profiles, pricing, promotional and sales materials.  Since its launch at the Natural Products Expo in March 2002, MCG has managed all sales and promotion of the products.  MCG has significantly grown sales on the natural jerky products in each of the last three years through the development of new distribution channels and the improvement of volume in existing channels.  MCG anticipates continued growth with Double B over the next few years.

Double B and MCG are in the process of launching several line extensions in the form of new flavor profiles and sizes that will further grow its brand within the natural and specialty food market.

Brand Profile - U.S.A. Nanfang Food Industry Corp.
LEAD Technologies Inc. V1.01The company started working with USA Nanfang Food Industry Corp in June of 2003.  At that time their primary product was a sweetened coconut juice sold to the Hispanic Stores in Southern California.

The company, through its broker network has had some success selling the Hispanic targeted products, but has focused its efforts almost entirely since 2004 on selling its all natural products into the natural foods channel.

Young coconut juice is a natural isotonic beverage; a “natural electrolyte replacement.”  Due to its key benefits and great taste, there has been a growing awareness of the category and Amy & Brian is leading the way in distribution.  MCG has overseen an initial re-design of packaging as well as development of line extensions launched in 2005 and 2006.

In addition to the Amy & Brian products, USA Nanfang also has contracted MCG to manage the Master Café brand of ready-to-drink iced coffee products.

Thanks to a strong relationship with Whole Foods and Nature’s Best, we have continued to grow our distribution in Southern California.  In January 2006, Whole Foods Southern Pacific launched a front end promotion that sold over 5,000 cases of coconut juice. Amy & Brian is now distributed to all divisions of Whole Foods Markets.

Brand Profile - Choctál, Inc.
The company first met the founders of Choctál, Marc Boatwright and Rob Miller, in February 2006.  After a couple of months of discussions it was obvious that we wanted to work together.  Throughout the summer, we were involved in the development process for packaging and making of many key decisions about the products that would be released.

Starting in September, Choctál ran their first production and we were able to secure authorizations for Whole Foods Southern Pacific, Whole Foods Northern California, New Seasons Markets and Bristol Farms, driving distribution in UNFI West and West Pico.

The products were officially debuted at the NASFT Winter Fancy Food Show in January 2007 and we have been adding new customers to our roster ever since.  We have gained placement in many key specialty, natural and supermarket chains including King Soopers, Whole Foods Southwest/ Rocky Mountain, Whole Foods South, Whole Foods Florida, Central Market, Mollie Stones, Andronico’s and several others.  We anticipate being in over 700 stores by the end of May 2007.

Choctál’s innovative products are the first single origin chocolate and vanilla frozen desserts.  Its initial offerings are four chocolate ice creams and one vanilla.  Their intensity, creaminess, and mouth feel are second to none.  This unique approach to ice cream has intrigued both buyers and the medial.  Since January we have had over ten articles written about the products in California and expect many more as the products roll out across the country.  MCG is coordinating both a national PR campaign with the help of Isaac Cronin PR and demo program in additional to its sales responsibilities.
